P for Play

For today’s #GreenSpacesDictionary and @mumbaismagic we explore where children play in a city with few playgrounds and trees that are climbed.

The pandemic has made kids spend more time with adults than ever before and cut them off from other children. They now do what they see and we the adults are the worst models they are aping, addicted as we are to screens, jobs that don’t have fixed timings anymore and added to that, they have a ringside view of what your marriage is like or how you treat your old parents.

Even before this, where did children play in a city which does not care for playgrounds and development hawks who see playgrounds as revenue Centres and make deals with entertainment and sports companies?

With available space.

Don’t let them play Zara hatke, Zara bachke, You can actually decide by speaking out for your kids.
